I am fond of reading. I like nearly all genres, but best of all I like science fiction and historical novels. I don’t read much in English. Apart from the text-book I’ve read a few short stories and Winnie-the-Pooh by A. Miln. It’s difficult for me to read un-adapted English books. There are many Ukrainian and a few English and American writers on my reading-list. I’ve read most of them, the most impressive being T. Shevchenko, I. Franko, L. Ukrainka, W. Shakespeare, О. Wild, Mark Twain, O’Henry to name but a few. I read Robinson Crusoe and The Mysterious Island several times. Nobody makes me read, I read on my own because it’s interesting. Sometimes I do, but it’s rare. Usually a dull book becomes interesting after a dozen pages or so. I always read a book to the end with maybe a few exceptions. Literature is my favourite subject, and I’d like to read all the time and read books «from cover to cover», but I have to prepare for other lessons as well. I like many authors, it’s difficult to separate one of them. In my favourite book characters I like their strength, audacity, cleverness, kindness, humor, and similar traits. From books we can learn how to live and how to behave in different situations.
