The name comes from “popular music”. Singers usually play to orchestra music. Their songs have catchy melodies which are easy to remember. People of all generations listen to this kind of music. C. heavy metal It is a kind of rock music. It is loud and has a strong beat. Songs usually speak about depressing things, but the tone of voice of the lead singer is more important than the words of the song (lyrics). At concerts, musicians shake their long hair and wear boots and black leather jackets. The music started in the late 1960s and early 1970s in England and the US.
