6. You are going to write a story which must begin w ith the sentence ‘While I was closing my curtains one night, I noticed something unusual’. Plan the events in your story. Use the questions to help you. PLAN FOR THE STORY 1. Where does the story take place? • In my bedroom at home • It’s late at night, everything is quiet 2. Beginning – What did you notice? • I looked out the window before closing the curtains • I saw something unusual: – a strange light in the garden OR – a shadow moving OR – something glowing in the sky • I got curious and decided to look closer 3. Main events – What happened next? • I opened the window / went outside quietly • I discovered what the strange thing was: – maybe an animal – maybe a lost drone – maybe a mysterious person – or something magical (a tiny glowing creature, a sparkling object, etc.) • I felt surprised, scared or excited • Something unexpected happened: – the creature ran away – the object suddenly stopped glowing – the person disappeared – something made a noise 4. Ending – What happens in the end? • I understood what it really was • I told my family / kept it a secret • I went back to my room • The next morning, I still wondered if it was real • OR I found a small clue that proved it really happened
