Fill in the gaps with words from the box. Glasgow is the largest city of Scotland with almost one mln inhabitants. It lies only 50 miles from Edinburgh, near the west coast of Scotland. When one of the biggest university was built here in 15th century it became one of the most important educational centres. Today many thousands of workers commute to the city because it dominates the whole region in industry. It became a great port and industrial centre at the beginning of the 18th century. Today it is known for its shipbuilding, machinery and chemicals, textile and clothing, cotton and woolen carpets. It is also known for its book-producing and publishing firms. Besides Glasgow is full of interesting museums and galleries. Inhabitants of Glasgow are proud of their city.
