As the pressure increases underwater, the air inside the balloon compresses and the balloon becomes smaller. For example, at a depth of 10 m, it will be half its size; at 20 m, a third of its size. B. Look at the highlighted words in the text and find their definitions in a dictionary. Pressure – the force that something exerts on another thing, especially in a liquid or gas. Compresses – makes something smaller by pressing or squeezing it. Depth – the distance from the top or surface to the bottom of something. Surface – the outside or top layer of something.
