1 CLIL / Math Area and perimeter B. Look at the square again. Which of the following ways can you use to find the area and perimeter? Tick. To find the perimeter of a square: take the length of one side and multiply (×) it by 4. To find the area of a square: multiply (×) the lengths of side a and side b together. Perimeter = 8 cm + 4 cm + 8 cm + 4 cm = 24 cm. Area = 8 cm × 4 cm = 32 cm². Perimeter = 3 cm + 4 cm + 5 cm = 12 cm. Area = (3 cm × 4 cm) ÷ 2 = 6 cm².
