Nevertheless, we have our local newspaper “Ridniy Krai” and is published weekly. People in Kharkiv ask me, “Is there anything interesting to read?” Of course, there is. Even in small towns there are events which interest local people. So, our newspaper prints reports on the town council’s decisions and plans, where they will allocate money, how they are going to renovate streets, squares, parks, schools, and so on. What entertainments are to be expected is also printed there. Local businesses advertise their produce and working places. There are also sports page and children’s page. We can also find interviews with local businessmen, administrators, doctors, and teachers, learn about history of our town, and learn the readers’ opinions on local social life. So it has its devoted readers.
