I’m writing to you from Cairo where I’m on holiday. I’m staying in a small but very nice hotel. Cairo is a huge city, very crowded and noisy. I’ve tried the traditional food. It’s quite tasty but it’s very fatty. I’ve started putting on weight. Wherever I go I take my camera with me. I’ve taken so many photos they’ll cost me a fortune back in England. I’ve already seen the Pyramids, the main reason I came here. What a fascinating tomb! Yesterday a strange thing happened. I woke up before dawn and went to the Pyramids to watch the sunrise. It was a breathtaking sight. I heard some noise. It was a monkey. I followed it through the entrance. I don’t remember if there was any warning on it. It was very dark inside, so I tripped over something. It was a case. As I fell down, I hit the case and it opened. There were some jewels in it. Then I heard some men talking about the King’s jewels. I understood they were sight lookers. Of course, I didn’t want the lookers to get the jewels so I grabbed them and ran out of the pyramid. I was so scared and confused, that I lost my way and couldn't get out for hours. Guess who helped me? Yes, it was that monkey again. What an adventure. I've almost forgotten to tell you, I took the jewels to the police. No idea what they've done with them. I have to stop now. I’ll keep you informed. Love, Gary
