b) Complete the sentences. Australia is a member of the British Commonwealth. The head of the state is the Queen of the UK. Australia is a federation of six states and two territories. The federal government is responsible for the national economy and Reserve Bank, customs and excise, immigration, defence, foreign policy and the postal system. The federal government consists of the Queen, the Senate and the House of Representatives. The House of Representatives is elected every three years. Prime Minister is the head of the party, which has majority in the Houses of Representatives. Australian Democrats have been very successful in recent times.
