Let me tell you about my ancestors. My mother’s family came from a small village in western Ukraine. My great-grandparents were farmers: they grew wheat and kept cows. During the Second World War my great-grandfather fought in the army. After the war my grandparents moved to a big city and worked at a factory. They always valued education, so they wanted their children to study at university. My father’s grandparents were teachers; they taught History and Ukrainian at a local school. They loved books and music and often read poems to their children in the evenings. Thanks to my ancestors I learned to work hard, respect our traditions and love my country.
