Pyrohiv is an open-air Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine. It is situated on the southern outskirts of Kyiv. The museum was founded in the late 1960s and opened for visitors in 1976. Its territory is very large and it shows traditional houses, wooden churches, windmills and farm buildings from different regions of Ukraine. In Pyrohiv you can see old household objects, tools, carts and beautiful folk costumes. At weekends there are folk festivals, concerts and fairs. Visitors can buy handmade souvenirs and taste traditional Ukrainian dishes in small cafes and restaurants. I think Pyrohiv is a very interesting place because it helps people to learn about Ukrainian history and culture.
