In my region rural tourism has been developing for about twenty years. Many families offer accommodation in comfortable guest houses or rooms in their farmhouses. Visitors can help with farm work, ride horses, go fishing, hike in the forests and learn how to cook traditional dishes or make handicrafts. The high season is in summer and early autumn, when the weather is warm and fruit and vegetables are ripe; the low season is in late autumn and winter. There are several local associations that support rural tourism, give information to tourists and organise festivals in the villages.
