In my country we commemorate those who lost their lives during the wars on the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism on 8 May and on Defender’s Day on 1 October. On these days we lay flowers and wreaths at war memorials and at the graves of soldiers. We keep a minute’s silence and listen to speeches. We watch TV programmes and films about the war. At school we have special lessons and talk about the heroes and their bravery. In this way we show our respect and gratitude to them.
