5. Write German/French equivalents to the English words and word combinations. Make up three sentences with them. German equivalents: rainfall — Niederschlag; thunderstorm — Gewitter; frosty — frosting; nasty — unangenehm; thaw — Tauwetter; hail — Hagel; violent storm — heftiger Sturm; torrential rain — starker Regen. In winter the weather is frosty. In summer there is often a thunderstorm. In autumn we can have heavy rainfall and nasty weather.
