6. Work with a partner. Take turns sharing your opinions on the following topics. After each statement, the other person should agree or disagree and explain why. There is a model to help you. 1. Pupil 1: I think it’s important to follow your dreams when you choose a career. Pupil 2: I agree, because doing what you love makes you happy. 2. Pupil 1: You should choose a career based on what you love, not just the money. Pupil 2: That’s true. Money is important, but loving your job is more important. 3. Pupil 1: Becoming a doctor or teacher is more important than becoming a photographer or artist. Pupil 2: I disagree. All jobs are important in different ways. 4. Pupil 1: Everyone should have a job that helps other people. Pupil 2: I agree. Helping others makes the world a better place. 5. Pupil 1: It’s okay to change your career choice as you grow older. Pupil 2: Yes, that’s true. People change, and their interests can change too.
