Where are they situated? Yes, there are mountains in the west and in the south of Ukraine. 5. Are there rivers in Ukraine? Yes, there are many rivers, the biggest and most important rivers being the Dnieper, The Danube, the Southern Bug, the Siversky Donyets, and many others. 6. How is the landscape changing from west to east of the country? From north to south? From wooded hills in the west through flat agricultural lands in the central parts with occasional swampy areas it turns into a steppe flatland with low hills, and from wetland in the north it turns into arid steppes in the south. 7. What type of climate is there in Ukraine? Ukraine has temperate continental climate with hot summers and cold winters.
