3. Complete the text with the correct form of the verbs from Exercise 1.

Yesterday, I was studying when Mum (1) reminded me that our favourite TV programme was on. It’s about teenager and parent stuff and last night’s was about social media. First, they showed a

story of a lonely boy called Kyle, who (2) wondered whether he would ever have any friends. Two boys in his class (3) were joking about him online, but it wasn’t funny to him. In the end, one of the

boys (4) apologised, but it was too late – Kyle had lost his self–confidence. The programme also (5) warned us to be careful about the people you talk to on social media. Sometimes, you don’t know them and they might be dangerous. The next part was interesting. So, many parents (6) complain about their kids using social media, telling them to turn their phone off at the table and so on. The film showed a mother, who had no idea her daughter had friends all across the world and she saw the positive side of social media! It’s a great programme to watch with a parent because you will certainly (7) disagree about some things, and you can have a good discussion about them. Last night’s programme was interesting and I (8) promised Mum I’d be more open about my online use in case there were ever any problems.
