Unit 8: 5

Task 5. Write a blog post (120-150 words) about the main city in your region. Include:

KYIV – THE MAIN CITY OF MY REGION

Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine and the main city of my region. It is located on the Dnipro River and is a very big city.

The atmosphere in Kyiv is lively and welcoming. There are many parks, monuments, old streets and modern buildings. Tourists can go sightseeing in the city centre, visit St Sophia’s Cathedral, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and Independence Square. They can also walk along Khreshchatyk Street or relax in one of the parks.

Kyiv is also a great place for culture and entertainment. There are many museums, theatres, cafés and shopping centres. I like Kyiv because it is beautiful, interesting and full of history.
