Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m writing in response to an article I recently read in your newspaper about carpooling. I was very interested to read about this solution to the problem of pollution in our city and I would like to express my views on the topic.

First of all, carpooling would reduce traffic and air pollution. People could also save money by sharing the cost of petrol.

On the other hand, it might be difficult to find people who travel at the same time. Picking people up and dropping them off could take extra time. You would also have to depend on other people.

In conclusion, I do not think the disadvantages are serious, so I believe that introducing the system of carpooling is a wonderful idea.
