Умова завдання

Read about the importance of Physics. From the list of arguments choose those which are important to you. Give your reasons. REASONS TO STUDY PHYSICS • Physics helps us develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It requires from students to think logically, use analogies, etc. • It helps us understand the world we live in, how the world around us works, the fundamental principles that govern our universe and everything in it. • Modern technology is physics-based. • Knowledge of Physics is needed to understand music, sound, light, art and literature. Many authors use allusions to physics in their works. • It helps us communicate. The creation of computers, the Internet, phones, etc. wouldn’t be possible without physics. • Physics plays an important role in providing energy. Everything from nuclear power plants to solar powered…

Текстова відповідь

Учень має обрати з наведеного списку ті аргументи на користь фізики, які здаються йому найважливішими, і пояснити свій вибір. Наведемо зразок відповіді.

For me the most important arguments for studying Physics are these:

1) It helps us understand the world we live in and how it works.

2) Modern technology is physics-based.

3) It helps us communicate, because computers, the Internet and phones wouldn’t be possible without physics.

My reasons:

Firstly, I am very curious about nature. I want to know why things happen around me, for example why seasons change or why objects fall down. Physics gives clear explanations of these processes.

Secondly, I am interested in modern gadgets. I use my smartphone and computer every day, and I know that they were created thanks to the laws of physics. Without physics there would be no modern technology.

Thirdly, communication is very important in my life. I talk with my friends online, send messages and make video calls. All these things work because of physics, so I think this argument is also very strong.

That is why I believe Physics is a very important subject and we should study it at school.
