1. Have you read any stories that take place in school? What happened?

Yes, I have. I have read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It takes place in a magical school called Hogwarts. Harry makes new friends, learns magic, and helps stop a villain from stealing the Philosopher's Stone. It is exciting and interesting.

2. Read Alex’s story. Choose the best first sentence.

The best first sentence is:

b) It was the first day back at school after the summer holidays.

Why?

The story says:

"Before the holidays the teacher had asked us to do some simple homework."

The narrator forgot to do it during the holidays.

On the first day back, the teacher didn't ask for the homework until the end of the class and told everyone to bring it tomorrow.
