Talking Points

The students probably enjoyed several things about the Minddrive project. First, they got to work on a real car and turn an old Volkswagen into an electric vehicle, which is something very practical and different from normal school lessons. They also had the chance to learn new skills, especially in engineering and technology, and do something “hands–on” instead of just studying from textbooks. Driving the car across the USA and meeting politicians and journalists would also have been exciting and memorable.

As for whether I would like to take part in a project like this, it does sound interesting because it combines creativity, teamwork, and real–world experience. It would be a good way to learn in a more active and practical way. On the other hand, it might also feel challenging if you don’t already know much about engineering or technology, but that could also be part of the learning experience.
