3. Complete the conversation. Use the past simple or past continuous form of the verbs.

Barbara: What (1) were you doing in the hall cupboard for so long?

Rhiannon: I (2) was looking for my winter boots.

Barbara: (3) Did you find them?

Rhiannon: No, but I’m sure I (4) put them there last spring. I remember when I (5) was tidying my room, I (6) decided I (7) didn't want to keep them there in the summer.

Barbara: I guess Alex (8) moved them. He (9) was using that cupboard for his sports gear for a few months, until he (10) stopped going to the gym.

Rhiannon: Well, I hope he (11) didn't throw my favourite boots away! They (12) cost a lot of money!
