Today many people have become online celebrities, with their accounts having thousands and even millions of followers. However, it is important to remember that the fans who (1) follow them are not always real. In fact, anyone online can buy bot (short for robot) accounts to make their photos and videos look more popular. Some bots add nice comments, whereas others (2) troll a person. They can also (3) contact you and ask for your personal data.

Headlines that you often (4) browse may come not from a reliable source but the one with false information created to only seem true. You read it and (5) copy and paste it or (6) message your friends. As a result, false information spreads, but no one (7) analyses the facts or knows where it originally comes from. So, next time you read the news online, (8) google it first to make sure it is not fake or (9) post the text into a fact–checking website.

Not so long ago, people used to (10) update their personal information only to (11) contact their family and friends on their lives. Now, they use their accounts on social networks to (12) blog or to (13) stream videos for everyone to see.
